Sluice panels for closing large orifices

In case of hydraulic facilities, power plants, large industrial plants and sewers of large cities it is required to close orifices having width and or/height exceeding a couple of metres. The large closing structures used in such cases control or fully stop the water flow.
Their engineering design is made entirely on a case by case basis always depending on the orifice dimensions and the level of water to be handled. With regard its material, it is possible to make them from corrosion resistant steel (1.4301), acid resistant steel (1.4571) or hot dip galvanized carbon steel.
The closing with divided panels is recommended in case of high water level, where the panels occupy less space in open condition.
The manipulation of large sluice gates is always made with booster devices or electrical drives.
